Pfc Fred Creekmore attended high school for two years and worked on a farm before he enlisted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina on 3 December 1942.

He was killed by small arms fire in his stomach.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
