Pvt George W. Becker attended high school for three years and was employed at the Oregon Shipbuilding before he enlisted in Portland, Oregon on 3 January 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his stomach and kidney.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Champigneul, France.
