Pvt Peter F. Allegaert attended Staunton Military Academy and was graduated from Newton High School in 1943 before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 24 June 1943. He was sent overseas in June 1944.
He was killed by small arms fire.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
