T/4 David M. Gasper graduated from Jackson Township High School. He was a cabinetmaker before he enlisted in Cleveland, Ohio on 19 September 1941 and was sent overseas in April 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Grand-Faily, France.
