Pvt Walter R. Barndollar was employed at the Glenshaw Glass Company before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 8 November 1943.

He was killed by small arms fire to his chest.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
