Pfc Louis S. Bavlsik was a semiskilled welder and flame cutter at the Wire Frame Company before he enlisted in Camp Upton Yaphank, New York on 29 July 1941.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
