Pfc Dale H. Duling graduated from Frostburg Kempton High School and attended State Teachers College for two years before he enlisted in Baltimore, Maryland on 22 July 1943. He was sent overseas in August 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.
