Sgt Paul A. Anctil attended high school for two years and was employed at the U.S. Bobbin and Shuttle Shop before he enlisted in Boston, Massachusetts on 18 March 1941.

He died in a field hospital to the effects of wounds caused by artillery shell fragments in his stomach and arm.
