Pfc Boyd C. McWethy attended high school for four years and was employed at the NYA Administration before he enlisted in Portland, Oregon on 14 May 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.

He is remembered at the Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, Orange County, California.
