Pfc Raymond H. Durben attended high school for one year and was employed at the Paranite Wire and Cable Corporation before he enlisted in Indianapolis, Indiana on 4 May 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments.

His brother Fred H. Durben is buried next to him.
