Pfc Arakel R. Israelian attended high school for four years and was a mechanic and repairman of airplanes at Pratt & Whitney United Aircraft before he enlisted in Worcester, Massachusetts on 6 March 1941.

He was taken prisoner of war and died of his injuries in Germany. Whether he died in a POW camp or in a hospital is not known.
