Pvt George C. Kluge attended high school for three years and was an electrician apprentice before he enlisted in Jefferson Barracks, Missouri on 4 January 1944.

He was killed by small arms fire to his stomach.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.

He is also remembered at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Paris, Monroe County, Missouri.
