Pfc William J. Yuretich attended college for two years and was employed at the Fort Pitt Paint Company before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 16 February 1943. He was sent overseas in September 1944.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
