T/Sgt John A. Talarico was employed at the Checker Cab Company before he joined the National Guard in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on 16 January 1941. He was sent overseas in September 1944.

He was wounded in Luxembourg on 9 January 1945 and he died in a field hospital to the effects of artillery shell fragments in his intestines on 11 January 1945.
