S/Sgt Gene E. Buffington was employed at the Standard Railway Equipment before he enlisted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 16 February 1943.He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.
He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
