Pfc Bennett Williams attended Antioch High School for one year and was employed by Ragland Potter & Company wholesale grocers before he enlisted at Camp Forrest, Tennessee on 28 December 1942. He was sent overseas on 4 January 1944.

He died of wounds, sustained by of artillery shell fragments in his stomach and pelvis.
