2nd Lt Joseph T. Texada graduated from Louisiana State University before he enlisted in June 1943. He was sent overseas in August 1944.

He was wounded by machine gun fire on 18 October 1944.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Andilly, France.

Lt Texada is also remembered at the Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville, Rapids Parish, Louisiana.
