S/Sgt Edward D. Wallace attended high school for two years and was a carpenter apprentice before he enlisted at Fort McClellan, Alabama on 22 August 1942.

He was killed by small arms fire in his chest.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
