Pvt Robert D. Rabeck attended high school for two years and was a fruit and vegetable grader and packer before he enlisted at Camp Blanding, Florida on 23 February 1943.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his chest.

He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery in Limey, France.
