Pfc David B. Call graduated from Central High School in 1938 and worked as a gas station attendant.

He enlisted on 16 February 1942.

In May 1944, in Italy he was wounded in action by an artillery blast. He was discharged from the hospital in June 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in his thorax and back.
