Pfc Wilford C. Mesic graduated from Sidney Central School in 1941 and was employed by the Scintilla Magneto Co.

He enlisted in Utica, New York on 27 November 1942 and was sent overseas in July 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the thorax and his back.
