Pfc Merle R. Fall attended high school for two years and was a filling station attendant, employed by the Klet Motor Sales Co. before he enlisted induced in Detroit, Michigan on 9 April 1941.
He was killed by small arms fire in the back.

Cpl Fall is remembered at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Novi, Oakland County, Michigan with a memorial marker.
