Sgt Daniel J. Harvey attended high school for one year and was a chauffeur employed by the Consolidated Motor Lines before he enlisted in Hartford, Connecticut on 19 December 1942.

In October 1944, in France, he was wounded in the neck due to a land mine explosion.

Sgt Harvey was killed by small arms fire in the head and thorax.
