Pvt Everett M. Ryan attended high school for two years and worked in a kitchen before he enlisted in Providence, Rhode Island on 27 June 1942.

In November 1944, in France, he was wounded by an artillery shell fragment in his thumb.
He was killed by artillery shell fragments to the head.
