Pfc Joseph P. Zubrinic migrated to the United States in 1932.

He enlisted in New York City, New York on 25 March 1943.

During his training at Fort McClelland, Alabama, he was naturalized on 18 June 1943.

In December 1943, in Italy, he was hospitalized for wounds at his fingers, caused by a knife. He was discharged in January 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the femur.
