Pvt Benjamin A. France attended high school for one year and was a production worker, employed by the Blawn Steel Co. before he enlisted in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on 27 December 1943.

In September 1944 he was wounded by small arms fire in the neck but returned to duty very soon.

He was killed by small arms fire in his back.
