Pvt Claire R. Dygert graduated from North High School in 1937 and was employed by the Connoly Contracting Co.

He enlisted in December 1943 and was sent overseas in August 1944.

He was killed by artillery shell fragments in the back and leg.

His brother Richard served in the U.S. Navy.
