Pfc Harold D. Breth attended high school for four years and was a clerk, employed by the Stokes Rubber Co.

He was married to Dorothy George on 16 June 1941. The couple had two sons.

He enlisted in Newark, New Jersey on 1 September 1944 and was sent overseas in January 1945.

Pfc Breth was killed by artillery shell fragments in the head and abdomen.
